In the Value Stream module, process thinking and the value stream are explained using a simulation as a basis for improvement. We place the value stream against the context of speed and quality. We learn to map the value stream in order to subsequently remove waste, minimize business value add and increase customer value.
In the Continuous Flow module we learn how to optimize a business process in such a way that it is aligned with customer demand, the steps in the value chain are fully aligned and everyone is continuously creating value. We not only learn how to practically apply principles of Flow and Pull, but also how to determine the optimal settings.
In the Lean Management module we learn the principles that made Toyota great and are the basis for Lean Management. In addition to the Toyota Production System we learn how to manage the organization from the Lean perspective (Hoshin Kanri) and how to coach people to better results (Kata). All this against the context of Kaizen, from which we learn that this not only stands for continuous improvement but is also a management approach.
In the Statistical Process Control module, you will learn how we determine that we do what we say. We will learn how to find disruptions in process behavior and how to prevent problems. You will also learn how to lay the foundation for improvements with Six Sigma by determining the area of improvement using simple statistical tools.
In the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) module, you will learn how to find the possible root causes for a problem that prevents you from meeting the required quality. You will then learn how we use Excel to reduce the possible root causes to the few real causes in a structured manner. Finally, we remove the real causes in a Plan, Do, Study, Act cycle.
In the Problem Solving module you will learn how to solve problems from theory to practice. For the theoretical solution you will learn how to create a regression model and how to determine its optimal settings. For this we use Minitab®. For the practical solution we use various techniques of Quality Assurance.
In the previous modules we have removed the root causes based on historical data and knowledge about the process. But what if processes are intertwined and you do not have a good picture of where the causes lie? Or what if you only have a small amount of data at your disposal? In this module we learn powerful techniques to discover the root causes from the data.
In the Quality Management Tools module, you will learn how to apply the seven Lean Quality Tools. This ensures that your organization remains at the right level and that you can continue to find and eliminate the root causes of problems. For this, we use simple Excel techniques with which we learn to set up visual management.
In the Lean Advanced module you will learn how to audit an organization in order to have a starting point for an implementation plan. You will also learn how to shape, facilitate and accelerate a change process. After this module you will know what you need to do to get an organization to Gold Standard, the highest maturity level for Lean.
In the Design of Experiment (DoE) module, you will learn how to set up an experiment to quickly gain information about the optimal settings for a process, product or even a service. Many organizations have to deal with polluted data. With a DoE, you can quickly gather information to reduce the Time-to-Market. DoE is one of the most effective techniques of Six Sigma. In this module, you will learn how to set up and implement a DoE, but also what you can ultimately do with the results.
Our Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training is focused on making processes more effective and efficient. You will learn to independently improve processes by identifying and eliminating root causes of problems. During the training, you will use research methods, tools and techniques to make processes easier, faster and cheaper. In addition, you will learn how to involve your team in this and how to lead process improvement initiatives within your organization, with statistics and management theories as the central focus. The on-site trainings take place in Utrecht or Rotterdam. Lunch, dinner, coffee and tea are provided there. The Virtual Classrooms are online trainings that you follow from behind your own computer. You have contact with the teacher and fellow students via a webcam. You can follow the Virtual Classrooms from your own home or office.

We do not administer the exams ourselves, which most providers do. The exams are administered by the International Lean Six Sigma Institute (iLSSi). This means you know that you will receive a real certificate. If you pass, you can officially start working as a Lean Green Belt professional.
